This week Emma popped into Seed Creativity to speak to our BAPSCI learners.
Emma Fay is known for her concept body artistry, using paint on the human canvas to create artworks that challenge visual perception. Inspired by evolution and origins, her art conveys notions of surrealism and symbolic expressionism through her manipulation of the human form. Successfully combining her artistic, theatrical and business background with professional experience within the hair and beauty industry, Emma has gained notable recognition as one of the world’s most accomplished body artists. Gemma Astbury former learner from Leicester College won the coveted title of ‘Fujifilm Student Photographer of the Year 2016’ – she was also the Curator’s choice winner in February.
Leicester College was the source of the most entries in the Awards and the Photo Department will be presented with £500 worth of film from Fujifilm.
Gemma won £200 worth of Fujifilm film, a professional quality portfolio by Metroprint (www.metro-print.co.uk) and a one-to-one printing/consultancy session with one of their top printers. She will also receive a special bundle of Instax goodies, including Instax cameras, Instax printer and films.read more

Senika, has been studying at Leicester College for the past five years and recently graduated with BA Honours degree in Professional Studies (Creative Industries).
Senika said: “The reason I came back into education was to create a better future for myself and be somebody, I firmly believe in order to do that you need knowledge.”
While studying Senika overcame many personal struggles but refused to let that bring her down instead using life experiences to influence her work and turn negatives into positives.read more

Mark Boulton who is in year 2 of his Foundation Degree in photography with video at Leicester College won the ‘Digital Category’ as part of the HARMAN technology ltd Student Competition 2015, the theme for this year was “Saturday Night at the Movies”.
HARMAN hold an annual photography competition that invites all budding photographers to submit their creative entries.
This year the competition saw just short of 1000 entries and took the judges several hours to decide which two images should be selected as the winner in their respective category.read more
